Enog Stormbringer walks into the temple of The Storm Father, and looks around for the most senior priest currently on duty. He approaches, "Hello, My name is Enog Stormbringer, I'd like to know more about The Storm Father."
It seems that there are no senior priest at the moment. In temple there are a dozens of acolytes, assiting the many people. Anyone of them, if asked, answers with fervour that the Storm Father is an ancient divine being of the sea, which must be respect and feared, who has control over the wave and the storm.
OOG Aubergianian, do you want to do something in the city?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After listening to the young acolytes fervent dogma Enog smiles to himself and begins to ask small questions, and then suggest answers when the acolyte seems unable to provide them himself. (persuasion:20)
occ: I want to attempt to convert this acolyte to my own particular beliefs about the tempest. Basically that all of these tempest deities are simply manifestations of the True Tempest that is a primordial force of chaos, change and renewal in the world.
The acolyte, even though feels an affinity between the two believes, but he does not want any of it. He seems quite upset by Enog trying to somehow convert him.
Enog Shakes his head and walks away. He approaches one more acolyte, "When could I see one of the senior priests? I am Enog Stormbringer cleric of the True Tempest, and I need to speak with one of the senior priests."
Any other acolyte would answer that the highest priest is currently out of Callidyr, and quite busy these day. He will come back to assist the temple in few days.
"Thank you, I shall return. Do let your supervising priest know that I have called here." With that Stormbringer turns and strides out of the temple and makes for the inn.
OOG Nice. Now below to can see how, in a general manner, the meeting with the King is done. Feel free to play it in the way you see fit (asking question to the several NPCs, more info...). Assume that at the beginning of the meeting you are already been introduced to the King.
At the day of the meeting, Vondal comes to take the adventurers at the gate of the Keep. The meeting occurs in the Hall. The Hall does not display much luxury aside from two tapestries: the one on the western wall shows a huge whale leaping out of the water during a storm; the one on the eastern wall shows a victory scene of humans, elves and wolves and a gigantic beast resembling a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The meeting is attended by some of the most influential people in Callidyr. High King Derid Kendrick enters the Hall as last followed by two guards. He greets the adventurers and thanks them for coming here in Callidyr in this time of need. He has black hair and eyes. An imposing figure, although some concern is evident on his face. At his side, Vondal follows. The High King explains to the present the dire issues Alaron is dealing with:
1) A tribe of orcs has gathered somewhere in the Fairheight Range. In the last months, they cut off the routes between Caer Callidyr and the dwarven Clan Rookoath, interrupting the incoming of metal in the city and compromising the allegiance with the dwarves. Few days after the last orc attack, a plague has spread in the northern side of the city.
2) The Moonwell of Caer Callidyr has been corrupted, and, with it, the ability to cure the plague has been critically compromised.
3) Almost all the naval routes have been compromised, either by inexplicable storms or attacks of sea monsters. The Ffolk of Alaron has always paid great respect to the sea fey creature of the Moonshae Isles, but recently this relation stopped. This fact might be the cause for the unforgiving behaviour of the sea. The sea fey were located in the Korinn Archipelago, but the exact location is known.
Jelenneth Meliamne (female elf, druid) reports to the meeting her findings of the corrupted Moonwell. Without finding the source of the corruption and a ritual of purification, there is no hope to restore the Moonwell. She is sure that that information is known to an ancient fey creature in Dernall Forest. To her, going to the old forest and finding the ancient fey is the priority.
The primary concern of Cora Tosscobble (female halfing, captain of the city watch and militia) is the orcs. They attacked too frequently in the lasts weeks. She suggests to send a small group of strong people in the Fairheight Range to scout for the orc location, and, if possible, wipe them out. She proposed herself as one member of this group, but King Kendrick refuses, saying that her presence is strongly needed here in Callidyr.
Amnon Art (male tiefling, merchant) is quite eager to resolve the sea fey matter. Without the re-establishment of ship routes, he thinks that all the people in Alaron are doomed, and might better leave the island for good.
Diero Marivaldi(male human, high priest of the Storm Temple) presses on the sea fey matter as well. He says that the sea fey is becoming more and eviler and suggests that all worshipping effort should be focused on the Storm Father, which already granted a safe naval route to Norland Isle.
Quarion Xiloscient (male half-elf, harbourmaster) agrees with Cora. Although he deeply wants to see the ships of Callidyr sail proudly trought the Moonshae Isles once again, he thinks that the orcs are the most pressing matter to resolve.
Krisnen thinks on the matters presented, staying silent during the various debates and presentations that happen in the hall. He collects his thoughts, 'If the Orcs take the city there is no reason to re establish trade routes, however if the plague continues to spread then there will be no town to protect either. It seems no small coincidence that the orcs show up and then a plague descends on the people, and the Moonwell that could cure the plauge is corrupted. Mayhaps the Orcs are tied to the desiccation of the Moonwell, part of a two part plan to take down the city.'
"Ahem...In which order did the events fall? Did the Moonwell become corrupted before or after the Orcs attacked?" Krisnen addresses the group as a whole, not any one person in particular.

Jelenneth:" The Moonwell started to show signs of corruption three weeks ago. The orc attacks started before, almost two months ago. But the last attack, the one which possibly caused the plague was ten days ago."
Krisnen nods, "Why then do you believe they could help with the Moonwell and how would we go about finding this creature if none have seen him?"
Jelenneth:" I studied ancient lore of the forest these days and I feel that this fey is our best chance to restore the Moonwell. It is ancient enough to recall old times when the Moonwells were similarly damaged. I don't know how to find it but the Earthmother will guide us."
Diero: " Fey are a fickle lot. We should not waste time to go around finding these elusive creatures. The more we keep them away, the better.
Krisnen regards Diero as he speaks up, taking into account what he says. "My understanding from your presentation was that the dangerous seas started after the Stormfather was chosen over these Ancient Sea Fey, is that correct?"
If I see nothing else of interest in the refugee camp, I will head back into town to meet up with everyone.
Long days and pleasant rolls to everyone.

OOG Congrats to the party fro the way you have collected information! Now, can we go to the meeting or do you to do something else?
I am okay with moving on to the meeting! We are off to see the King!
As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
OOC: As am I!
