The cauldron is full of a thick green thick liquid that smells to you like your closest loved ones scent. The room itself is made of stone. It looks like some sort of library/mad scientist's lab! Around the cauldron itself the room is covered with shelves upon shelves of books, all arcane in nature, as well as a worktable loaded with various equipments element you know are used to make potions. On the worktable there are vials as well as potion bottles filled with liquids seeming to simmer with a rainbow of colors. You seem however most attracted to those that completely reflect no light. There's also a book open on the table and from your vantage you can see it's either written in draconic and arcane runes.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Shadow: Sure! How are you going to go about it? Remember it's atop an open fire at the center of the room.
Xenruth: Are you trained in the arcane arts? You could notice subtle things about worth being a rogue but without magical training you wouldn't know anything about the point components of the spells in the book itself.

Alright, Shadow carefully moves the stuff off the table and moves it to the cauldron to look in. "Hey Elly or Zillah, does any of this stuff look useful?"
You realize these are magical components but aren't exactly sure what they create. Although the book is obviously from a necromancer you aren't quiet sure what combination of components could make anything that would aid one!

You're standing at the tapestry and feel a draft, there's obviously a door behind it!

"Why does it smell like ham in here?" Gauld-ram asks as he enters the room
Rip Dangerfield- Halfling Bard, Storm Kings Thunder (retired)
Matrix- Human Monk/fighter, Storm Kings Thunder
The smell seems familiar to Xunreth, but he just cannot place exactly who it is. He was never really close to anyone in his life.

Any way to tell if it is active or if the conditions which trigger it are present?
Shadow: It's just a book, 22 arcana its a spellbook which you know needs spell components as well as the spoken words.

"I can check" Xunreth says, still contemplating the strange yet familiar smell.

Is there a way to look into the couldron?

{Are you talking about the spellbook or something? I was looking for traps...}
As for xunreth's checks I meant more the room in general.
Can shadow see down into the couldron by getting on the table or a chair or something g like that?
Shadow: You'd have to disturb the potions workstation to do so.
Xenruth: Sorry my mistake, there does not seem to be any traps!

"We're clear" Xunreth says, now ignoring the smell, for he cannot figure out what it is.
Alright, Shadow carefully moves the stuff off the table and moves it to the cauldron to look in. "Hey Elly or Zillah, does any of this stuff look useful?"
I move toward the tapestry. “Guys there is a breeze here. Maybe there’s a way out behind it.”
