Vox Machina have said their good byes and it sounds like they won't start the next campaign until next year, unless I miss understood Matt.
I know that there will be couple of One Shots while Matt and Marisha are away and then a 20th level Vox Machina Battle Royale. What else do you think we will see between now and the start of the New Campaign?
I'd love to see a one-shot by each of cast. We've had Liam and Sam, and I know that Talisen is on deck, but I'm really interested to see what Marisha, Laura, Travis, and Ashley would each come up with. One of the beauties of D&D is that how each campaign can be wildly different based on what each party and DM like to focus on.
Not Brian, though. Not because I wouldn't love the absolutely freakish insanity that would come out of his brain, but because I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on him in front of the Critical Role audience. Not while he's still learning how to play. Maybe at some point in a few years.
I agree with this. Although I highly doubt Ashley will have the time to build a campaign or Marisha for that matter. Id def be interested to see what Travis could cook up

For Ashley, I'd imagine that a lot rides on when she wraps for the season. I don't know Blindspot's schedule, or really enough other shows, to gauge a guess. Marisha's schedule will open up a lot more after their wedding, and everything, but she's still a major figure at G&S, so you're right that she might be too busy to put together a game. That still leaves room for Laura and Travis to each do a one shot. I felt like Liam's and Sam's games were very reflective of who they are, so I have fun imagining what Laura and Travis would do. Travis may be a little impulsive, but I think he's a lot smarter than most give him credit for (and I don't think anyone believes he's stupid by any stretch of the imagination). I honestly think he'd include more feints and traps than anyone else, and he'd make everyone fear every step they make.
What are the options for viewing the first episode of the new campaign? I came in late thinking it was starting at 11pm EST but quickly realized it had started earlier. So stopped watching.

Wait for G&S to upload it on Monday. / Tuesday on youtube I never get to catch the live shows due to the time zone difference from California to Illinois so that's what I do

I know it will eventually be here on the G&S site, but I'm not sure how long they take to put them up normally.

If you subscribe to Project Alpha, they upload it pretty much immediately afterwards. It's $5/month (free first 30 days), but you get some cool bonuses, too, like they have overlays that include character names, HP, mini character sheet info, etc. Not to mention that they did the overlays for all the old episodes. I'm a fan of Alpha. Granted, there are a lot of shows on there that I like, both for G&S and for Nerdist, so it's super worth it for me, and I like how it's better organized for backlog viewing. My only gripe is that they still don't have an Apple TV (or whatever other streaming box) app yet. Pushing to my Apple TV isn't the end of the world, but it's a little annoying that it basically takes up a device when I'm watching something on there.

This is the reason I am a Twitch viewer. My streaming devices are Amazon fire sticks (I'm cheap), so at least there is a Twitch app. The episodes are also available for immediate viewing on Twitch if you're a subscriber (which you can do for free with Amazon Prime for 1 channel per month). Otherwise it should be on Youtube on Monday.

I didn't know that about Twitch, or at least I forgot about it, but that's good to know. Thank you. I pretty much jumped on board Alpha right away, because the price is the same, but Alpha offers way more content (I enjoy Sidekick with Matt Mira and Talkin' Toons, among others), so I kinda forget some of those little things, because Critical Role was the only thing I watched on Twitch. In fact, Critical Role, Talks Machina, and Shield of Tomorrow are the only things I watch live anymore. I do have access to with Twitch on my Xbox One and natively on my TV (I assume it's on my PS4, too, but that hasn't been plugged in for 8 months), and I like using Twitch as a backup. I was having problems logging on to Alpha before the show started, but thanks to my afformentioned Twitch-enabled devices, I was able to switch over until I was able to get Alpha to work. I'm really happy that G&S is a multi-platform channel, and they're able to combine forces with Nerdist to be able to have content on Twitch, YouTube, and Alpha. Now all they have to do is somehow get Rooster Teeth to join their ranks, and about 80% of all my internet shows will be in one place.

Awesome I had no idea about free channel with prime, time to take advantage of that! I literally only joined twitch (for free) to try and watch this live
I am still hoping they'd get the DDB Twitch integration soon, even just a "beta" version of it. That would even-out most of the difference between alpha and twitch, and help boost even further the DDB sponsoring.
Remains to be seen, tho, if G&S would accept using that, as it might take away viewers from alpha (which had I think between 600 and 1k viewers on the first episode of the new campaign).

You'll also be supporting their work. Even as Prime Subscriber the channel receives compensation from Twitch as if you're a regular subscriber. Not as much as if you were to join alpha, but still.
Can anyone find a sheet for Thordak the Cinder King? I would like to throw him at my players in my game and can't find a sheet for him anywhere.
Yeah, CritRoleStats is the best place to look. Here's their Thordak analysis page for some information, including mechanical. It'd otherwise use the Ancient Red Dragon as the template, I'd presume.

What did everyone think of the most recent one-shot?
I haven't seen it yet , I'm still waiting on 115 to go up on youtube
I think the most entertaining part was watching everyone's reactions to the hunger dice, and other mechanics that are different in this game vs. 5E.
I'm intrigued to see how much more twisted Taliesin can get with the second half of it.
We have created a new thread for the second campaign of Critical Role here.
Keep this thread to discussing the first campaign, please.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!

Is there a link to the Campaign book

Maybe CritRoleStats?
Perpetually annoyed that Eldritch Knights can't use Eldritch Blast, Eldritch Smite, and Eldritch Sight.
