I am getting back into DM'ing again (have a few books collected already) and in the DM, PHB, XGE and MTF I haven't found anything about paragon or what progression there is past level 20.
I searched the forum and google and there doesn't seem to be anything, unless WotC hasn't put info out for that yet.
Mike Mearls (Wizards of the Coast) has said that their research showed that very few games ever make it to level 20, so they decided there really wasn't need to provide official progression past that point, other than the rewards system (boons etc) that are already provided.
Of course, give it a few years and they may well produce a "past level 20" book.
Thanks for the reply all, this was helpful. I last DM's 4e and starting a 5e campaign this November 2018 so I wanted to know what to expect past 20 like in 4e but I like the Epic Boon's idea.
I liked DM'ing 4e in the past but wow, there was just to many core books so I am glad to dive into 5e with what they have now and its more D&D rather then video game-ish.
I played 4e before 5e (and 2e before that). I enjoyed 4e for what it was. That said, 5e is imo, the best edition yet. We've found that combats drag MUCH less than they did in 4e. Everything just works more smoothly. I was afraid it was a return to 3e (I hate Vancian magic and rules bloat, which was a late 2e problem as well) but they have done a good job of getting rid of the things that I really did not like. I think you will like the simplicity of 5e much better.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
For what it's worth, the "levels" don't really correspond across systems. Compared to the 20 levels of 3/3.5, the 30 levels of 4E are really like something like level 3 through 18 — you start with much more power, each level is smaller in what it gives, and even despite 4E's somewhat ludicrous logarithmic scaling math, the highest levels just aren't as powerful. I'd say 5E is more like starting at the equivalent of 3.5 level one, but then jumps to 5 and only goes up to, like, 15 or so, with high-level abilities and spells much smaller in scope.

As far as I know there is nothing official for higher than level 20 play except some epic boons (see DMG).
So how you play beyond that is entirely up to you.

Are you referring to 4th edition? If so, wasn't that in the teens, rather than 20+ content?
If so, that's just Tier 3 (Levels 11-16). See Tiers of Play: https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/dmg/a-world-of-your-own#TiersofPlay
As noted above, if you're talking about Epic, there are no rules for gaining epic levels, but there are "epic boons" for rewarding Level 20 play.
