Hi! Just started using d&d beyond. Is there any way to "pay" for your starting equipment? I found the option to have a random amount of gold instead of starter sets, but is there any way that adding an item actually costs you gold?
Sadly, the recommended price for basic items like a mundane crossbow is not displayed in the character creator, only in the compendium. So it's a chore to find out what my character can afford...
Thank you for the answer! May you specify why not? "Price", "pay" and "item" are too ubiquitous to use them as search terms, so I failed to find the previous discussions.

This has been requested frequently, but it is not possible currently.

I don't know all the ins and outs, but a few are:
-it would be hard to take into account bargaining or different prices in different towns/areas
-not all tables use the prices in the PHB
-Curse has a whole list of features they are working on and this one is apparently not on the short-term priority list.
These are mostly guesses based on other threads/comments; I don't think I've seen an official response from Curse staff, but I could be wrong.
