iOS: Manage spells directly in the app / More support for Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
Android: More support for Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft / Install the app on the SD card
And by the way, don't forget to give us your feedback on what character sheet features you would like to have in the app sooner than later. Visit our portal!
Awesome stuff, thanks!
Can we please keep the icons along the bottom at all times, so we don’t have to dig all the way out of our character to look something up?
Hmm. I can now move the app itself to my SD card (Android user) but still can't save my library to it? Am I missing something?
Very happy to see spell management included!
Have my fingers crossed for equipment management in the next update. It's the one feature that's keeping me from using the app instead of the website in game.
Still no light theme, still can't use the app.
Another thing I noticed is that (at least on iOS) opening the app kills any music playing. Assume it’s because the dice rolling sounds take over – even if you’re not using them.
Android user here (Google Pixel XL, OS version 10). I made an attempt at this with Spotify playing and the app opened without stopping music. Further, I was able to open a character sheet and use the dice roll without it interfering with Spotify. The dice roll still make a sound through my music. So, at least for my setup, they seem to play nicely together.
That being said, Spotify is the only place I get music from, so other apps (iTunes) may have an issue. I can also see this not being something they anticipated since a DM (guessing this is who is playing music) may be assumed to be using a more traditional computer/laptop given the info they need at the ready. Although, I can see a DM using it to do a quick look at some compendium info or something.
Well I’d like to be able to look at my character outside of a game session without having the music or podcast I’m listening to stop. I just did some more testing and it dies precisely when you go into a character sheet – which supports my guess that it’s dice related.
I have real issues displaying the website on my tablet for some reason - instead of rendering the full site it renders a hyper zoomed in on one corner version - have to faff about with reloading the page a few times and back navigating to try and fix it. It happens whether i have "desktop view" or mobile view set in my browser (Firefox)
The app works fine but not being able to see my Familiar stat block is a bit frustrating as a warlock
Very technical high-level question here.
I want to run a game for a 100% blind friend. Besides screen readers or 25 pages of braille, I cannot find a way to do a character sheet for them that would help.
In what ways have you considered accessibility of various disabilities?
Any ways I can help?
I would not hold my breath - in the two years the app is out they couldn't even manage to add a light theme for those who can't use the current dark theme...
Looks like I will use a Mind Map program like FreePlane. Trying it out now. My coding experience is old.
I totally agree.
If I’m deep into a sourcebook I don’t want to have to exit the book just to find my bookmark tab at the bottom
Thanks. Needed this.
I would love to see the Extras section added asap.
I would have switched my players over to the app by now if I didn't have two druids in my party. The browser version is great since the Wildshape category stat blocks transfer the mental stats and proficiencies of the PC to the beast stat block. That level of detail would be amazing in the app.
I'd also love to see container management sooner rather than later too.
My PCs have backpacks and sacks of gold, but keeping track of where their items are being kept would be amazing. I'd love have my PCs be able to pick whether they want to store their gold in their pockets, a coin purse, a bag of holding, or another container. It would be specifically amazing to have the ability to create a custom container such as a fancy leather carrying case, pants pocket, or even (using XGTE rules for cobbler's tools) a shoe with a secret compartment.
The Search could really use an overhaul too.
If I search for "cobbler's" I get 2 results, one for the Backgrounds chapter of the PHB and one for the Halflings chapter from MTOF. Neither of which is very useful. If I search "cobbler's tools" the first result is from Xanathar's and the second is the PHB, but both take me to the top of the chapter instead of the section that has info about cobbler's tools. I cannot do a "find in page" search to get to the relevant section quickly, nor does the Table of Contents contain a quick link to it either.
I'm loving the updates to the app, btw! If these suggestions were made real, I'd be really pushing my players to use the app over the browser.
the app installs to the SD card but all the book still don't how do I fix this?
We wait for another update.
I don't get why we need an app to begin with. The mobile site is very robust and intuitive with what they've releases so far.
Creating an app to do what you've already accomplished is the equivalent of redesigning a round wheel to be round while the rest of the car sits on blocks with no engine.
I say that because we are still missing options from Mythic Odyssey and that's over a year old.
Because the app allows access to your books and characters while offline, while the website requires connectivity.
