UPDATE Aug 26th, 2021 10:42GMT: Thank you all for the feedback! We have deployed a few fixes. For those of you that saw a "0" appear instead of a hit dice button, you will now correctly see the button instead of the "0." We have also fixed a bug where deselecting already used hit dice and reselecting them would cause the hit dice button to appear. Clicking the Reset and Take Short Rest buttons will now also correctly set your hit dice to the proper amount. From feedback, we've also changed the default state of the checkbox to heal you with your hit dice automatically. This will now be checked by default. We read all your feedback so keep it coming!
Greetings Adventurers!
We are ecstatic to announce the addition of an exciting new feature! While short resting you can now roll your hit dice! Opening up the short rest pane and select however many hit dice you would like to roll during the rest and a dice button will appear underneath, adding your constitution modifier as well. If you would like to apply the hit dice you rolled as health, there is an option to do so listed right above your hit dice.

If you have feedback, we want to hear it! Go ahead and leave us a comment.

Posted Aug 19, 2021The only thing I noticed is that if you roll for the health but don't confirm the short rest, you get the hp but don't lose any hit dice.

Posted Aug 19, 2021Came here to say this.
This could lead to issues of "forgotten" spent Hit Dice (not necessarily because someone is cheating, but because it's easy to close short rest window after spending Hit Dice without knowing you had to click/confirm Short Rest to register them.
Also, I've mentioned this before as a request, but I feel the Hit Dice should be in the Hit Points section and register as "checked" ✅ each time you use one (without waiting for short rest button confirmation).

Posted Aug 19, 2021The only thing I would think that could be needed is the inclusion of other modifiers to rolling your hit dice. Like with the inclusion of a house rule, or class feature or spell that may increase the amount of healing you do when using hit dice.

Posted Aug 20, 2021Nice, this is great. Would be neat to see a similar system added for class features that are mechanically similar, like the celestial warlock healing dice pool.

Posted Aug 21, 2021Unfortunately this doesn't work with beyond20 at all, so while over due, a lot of the people who really wanted this (like me) can't use it since it won't be rolling the dice in roll20

Posted Aug 21, 2021It doesn't work with beyond 20 other than to update the HP. If your DM want's to see the rolls in the roll20 chat you still have to keep doing it the old way.

Posted Aug 27, 2021Agreed and worse yet, on iOS Safari, after rolling the healing from the short rest pane, the dice total pop-up obscures the short rest confirm button. Clearing the dice total automatically closes the short rest pane before allowing a confirmation of the rest… reopening the pane shows that the just spent hit dice (for which HP have already been applied by default) are now unchecked.

Posted Aug 27, 2021I noticed that when I hit short rest it did NOT add any hit points. I tried it several times, even clicking on the box that had the dice roll with the hear on it. Very confusing and then when I tried again it wouldn’t allow me to use those hit dice again

Posted Aug 27, 2021The short rest did not apply the healing from the hit dice being rolled when confirmed.
The long rest did fully restore the hit points and used hit dice.
