New Spell List feature
- Supports the ability to add spells to a character's class list from a background, a class feature, or a racial trait
- Supports in a more generic way the background spells from Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
- Supports the spells added by the Dragonmark subraces in Eberron: Rising from the Last War
- Supports extended spell lists for future content releases
- This feature is available for homebrew backgrounds, races, and subclasses
- Expansible to other features if needed in the future
Update: 8/25/2020
As of August 25th, copying an official or homebrew background, race, subrace, or subclass with spell list data will also copy that spell list data along with it. Happy Homebrewing!
Oohhhh....
It ain't much, but its an honest update. honestwork.jpg
What about adding spells to a character without creating a custom race/background/subclass?
At the moment, it still seems like the only way to do that is a partial solution feat that will list the spell but only at the default level and it will be stuck being shown as "At-will" instead of being integrated into the spell slot tracker.
Sadly, it seems the bug still exists where a forest gnome illusion wizard can’t change one of their two instances of the minor illusion cantrip. 😭
This isn’t about adding spells to characters. This is about adding spells to spell lists. They finally got Spells of the Mark to work properly!!! Huzzah!!!
It's what's I'm talking about, and it's the ultimate point of the addition.
Wait what? I have been playing a Mark of Making human Artificer for several months now and didn’t notice anything missing...oops.
If you mean currently having to make feats to act as spells of the mark the update actually means they are not needed if you have the race option for example Mark of Shadow Elf you now automatically will gain the spells in your spell list to choose amongst the others. No feats of homebrewing required.
Though this homebrew update now will let you make your own equivalent to the dragon marked races or Ravnica guild backgrounds without wierd workarounds they now will just work.
Yeah, I've had to create a custom Feat to grant the cantrip of my choice to fix this.
So how do you do it? I would assume this also allows the addition of spells from the UA Variants ?
Did this update allow sorcerer's to substitute other cleric spells for divine magic?
Love the updates! Keep them coming!
Good update!
Any chance that this feature will get extended to be available as part of an Option for a Subclass? That would enable us to more accurately program homebrews similar to the way the Genie Patron warlock was designed.
Legendary! Glad you're finally able to get Spells of the Mark and Guild Spells working.
General Feedback to Character Sheet: Very Helpful! Special feedback: The Radio switches are not intuitive. Red is a warning, every new player I showed the sheet asked me is it on or off??? This is was I asked myself... Maybe you can add a tooltip or green colour for on? A label?
Where are you seeing the "Radio switches" I cannot find them.
it is intended that in my character (link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/silviabeth/characters/32134717) i keep seeing healing word and ray of sickness as "always prepared spells" ?
they shouldnt even exist in my human/mark of cannith / artificier
or i am doing something wrong ?
thanks
The sliders (left or right). Left is greyed out, right is red. I mean the character editor page.
Pleeeeease extend adding spells to a class list to feats.
