What's included in each bundle?
Each bundle is a collection of books that follows a specific theme. The following bundles in the marketplace are on sale for 20% off:
- Player Bundle: Perfect for creating and customizing the characters of your adventuring dreams, purchasing this bundle unlocks four digital books that contain a wealth of character options.
- Sourcebook Bundle: Great for Dungeon Masters, this bundle contains all 20 official digital sourcebooks.
- Adventure Bundle: For those seeking epic quests, this bundle unlocks all 25 official digital adventure books.
- Legendary Bundle: For collectors and those who want to be prepared for anything, this bundle unlocks all 45 official digital sourcebooks and adventure books on D&D Beyond!
Can I gift a bundle to a friend?
Yes, you can purchase bundles as a gift! Simply select "Purchase as a gift" at checkout!
Are the bundles a good deal?
You bet they are! Our most inexpensive bundle, the Player Bundle, typically offers you a 20% discount versus buying each book individually. Similarly, the Sourcebook and Adventure Bundles normally net you 10% off versus purchasing individual books. Our largest bundle, the Legendary Bundle, typically lets you get in on all the action for 15% off versus individually buying books! But during this sale, you'll see even greater savings!
You also get discounts on books that are added to the bundles in the future. The Sourcebook and Adventure Bundles give you 10% off future books and the Legendary Bundle gets you 15% off. Pro tip: you can even stack these discounts with our single book sales! Getting into bundles early and capitalizing on single book sales is a great way to maximize your savings on future book purchases.
I've already purchased a bundle. Can I repurchase it to get the books I'm missing?
Unfortunately, repurchasing a bundle isn't possible. However, you get a discount on books that have been added to the bundle since you bought it. See the "Are the bundles a good deal?" section for more details on the discounts available.
What if I already own some of the books in a bundle?
If you already have one or more books from a bundle in your D&D Beyond account, the price you paid will be subtracted from the cost of the bundle!
How do I share the content from my bundle?
To share content you've purchased with players in your campaigns, you must first become a Master-tier subscriber. Once you are, go to your specific campaign's management page and select "Content Management." From there, you can select the books you want to share.
I already own an older version of the legendary bundle and would like to buy it again for all the books I am currently missing.
According to this Post the price of books i own should be subtracted, which does not happen :(
If you already have the Legendary Bundle you should have a discount applying to all future purchases for you own collection.
I have MM and DMG already, but when I added the Sourcebook bundle to my cart, there was no discount for already owning them. I got all the way through to the 'place your order' button, so I didn't continue, but it definitely doesn't look like the discount is working correctly.
Unfortunately, bundles can't be repurchased. However, you can wait for single book sales to stack the discounts of Legendary Bundle (15%) + whatever the sale is discount is!
The "discount" for previously purchased books seems to overwrite the 20% off from this deal.
It seems beyond a little peculiar that owning One Grung Above can make the Legendary Bundle cost 882.88 USD rather than the 706.30 USD that one would expect — or, heck, even the 710.30 USD that those who own none of the content are offered. Why are those of us who financially support D&D Beyond getting punished with higher prices than those who use the service for free?
According to others in this thread alone, I am not the only one experiencing this issue. And it's not the first time similar deals have precluded prior customers. Speaking for those of us burned by this, we expect the price subtraction for owned books to stack with the 20% discount for which everyone else is eligible.
Is this intended behavior? If it is intentional, can a staff member please speak to the reasoning behind this decision?
If someone tries to gift you a bundle but you have a lot of books already, does the person doing the gifting get the already purchased discount since they're sending it to you? One of my players is thinking about gifting me a bundle but I'm not sure if makes sense from a money standpoint if they'd have to pay the full price to gift it.
It says you need to buy them seperatly. It specifically says you can not buy the bundle twice...
People are simply not reading how the bundles work and Beyond literatly breaks it down in THIS post. Re-read it everyone....
My DM shares his books, but not all of the options are available in character creation (subclasses, feats, backgrounds).
Considering I had an account for over 5 years with many purchases, to find I now have no account and none of my purchases. Why the hell would I repurchase things when I can't count on them being there.
The character needs to be part of the campaign to take advantage of the sharing.
I'm sorry guys. But if I already own the physical books. Why would I rebuy the digital version ? And at almost the same price as a physical book.
I had the same experience, with a couple of other books. I also exited at the "place your order" step. Hope it's resolved before sale ends.
Quite a bit's been added to the post since it first went up, FYI.
Thank you for the reply. I think the offer says I can expect the cost of books I already bought to be deducted from the price of a new bundle. I bought the Player's Bundle a few weeks ago, before the advertisement came out for the discount on bundles. I am now interested in the Sourcebook Bundle, which contains four books that were included in the Player's Bundle I bought. Should I receive a discount on the Sourcebook Bundle for these four books (or at least, a discount in the amount of what I already spent on the Player's Bundle)? I am not talking about re-purchasing a bundle, but purchasing a different bundle. The conditions of the offer are unclear about this situation, so I am now wondering if I have misunderstood them.
I would recommend contacting customer services here. They should be able to help you recover your account.
That being said, it's worth checking you're signing in with the right google, apple or twitch account; it's very common for someone to, for example, have only ever had their twitch account then go to log in with what they think is their linked google account. This will then generate a new account (because nothing is currently linked to their google account), creating the impression that they've lost everything on their account.
The discount for previous owned content is automatically applied prior to you adding the bundle to your cart. The price you will see in the Marketplace is already inclusive of the discount. The Bundle Sale is a 20% discount, so if you are seeing a note next to the bundle price with a percentage that is higher than 20%, this is because it's your previous owned content plus the bundle Sale.
If you need additional assistance for a breakdown, you'll need to raise a support ticket so we can provide account and purchase info.
Unfortunately it still seems to be the case that the price you paid for a book is being discounted, rather than the entire book. If I've previously purchased the Player's Handbook at 50% off, why would I buy a bundle where I end up having to pay the other 50% for a book I already own? What use was the original discount in this case?
I looked at taking advantage of this. I have only been using D&D Beyond for less than a year, but I am really disappointed that they are not giving credit for purchased content as promised- that is shameful. I am sure there is some loophole or fine print that is my fault for not finding, but it did not occur to me that I needed to roll an Insight or Investigation check with advantage to understand the mechanics of purchasing content through this site!
Hey here's a bunch of content at a "discount" but only digital stuff. I wouldn't pay $500 for digital copies of all the stuff. Man I miss the Trove.
