Organized Play Update: Arcana Unleashed

Hello adventurers! We’re back with updates on our newest release, Arcana Unleashed, into D&D Adventurers League and Legends of Greyhawk. In addition, we’re going to talk about a small change to magic item acquisition in Legends of Greyhawk that will make access easier for all.

One other note: we’re getting this information out to you well in advance of the release of Arcana Unleashed, because the physical book will be available for early purchase at Gen Con 2026!

Arcana Unleashed in Adventurers League

All character options presented in Chapter 1: Character Options and all spells presented in Chapter 2: Spells are available for the Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Ravenloft, and Dragonlance campaigns.

Creators crafting adventures for any campaign allowed through the Dungeoncraft program may use the new monsters present in Chapter 6: Magical Creatures in Arcana Unleashed.

The D&D Adventurers League Player’s Guide, the D&D Adventurer’s League DM’s Guide, and the Dungeoncraft Design Guide will be updated with these changes, which will be posted in the D&D Beyond Organized Play forum in early December. For questions and feedback, visit the official D&D Discord, where you can find Adventurers League channels under “Organized Play.”

Arcana Unleashed in Legends of Greyhawk

The release of Arcana Unleashed contains character options that are suitable for Legends of Greyhawk. We’ve updated the Legends of Greyhawk Guide to accommodate these new options, which include adding the following for character creation:

  • All character options present in Chapter 1: Character Options
  • All spells present in Chapter 2: Spells

For details, check out the “Additional Sources” section of the guide. These new options are available immediately for play. Players can rebuild their existing characters to include one or more of these options – see the guide for more information.

Magic Item Trading in Legends of Greyhawk

We’ve made a small update to the magic item trading rules – you no longer must possess a physical representation of the magic item to conduct a trade. However, you can only conduct a trade with another character at the conclusion of a session where both player’s characters were present. This should allow many more players to access the ability to trade!
