Product Description
Explore a wealth of new rules options for both players and Dungeon Masters in this supplement for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
The beholder Xanathar — Waterdeep’s most infamous crime lord — is known to hoard information on friend and foe alike. The beholder catalogs lore about adventurers and ponders methods to thwart them. Its twisted mind imagines that it can eventually record everything!
Xanathar's Guide to Everything is the first major expansion for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, offering new rules and story options:
- Over twenty-five new subclasses for the character classes in the Player’s Handbook, including the Cavalier for the fighter, the Circle of Dreams for the druid, the Horizon Walker for the ranger, the Inquisitive for the rogue, and many more.
- Dozens of new spells, a collection of racial feats, and a system to give your character a randomized backstory.
- A variety of tools that provide Dungeon Masters fresh ways to use traps, magic items, downtime activities, and more — all designed to enhance a D&D campaign and push it in new directions.
Amid all this expansion material, Xanathar offers bizarre observations about whatever its eyestalks happen to glimpse. Pray they don’t come to rest on you.
* - Expanded racial feats not available in Adventurers League play.
** - Limited to the first 10,000 pre-orders.
So these feats will not be available in the hardcover?
Ordered! I would have ordered it anyway without the bonuses but I'll be interested to see what that character sheet artwork looks like.
Can we toggle off and on the homebrew feats?
You need to be really clear on communication here "- Expanded racial feats not available in Adventurers League play." and label them as homebrew else there is a huge risk of miscommunication both here and on social media.
I also guess that your need to do those feats means that XGE only have racial feats for those published in the players handbook and if that is the case it's very disappointing.
I bought it already a week ago when there were no pre-order goodies announced. Will I get them aswell?
cheers! :)
I've seen on reddit and a couple of forums that people are complaining about the pre-order bonuses for Xanathar's. They're not really complaining about what they'd be getting, they're mostly complaining that there are pre-order bonuses at all. They're saying that these bonuses are manipulative and unfair and a deleterious trend in the hobby.
Because of this, I've decided what I'm going to do about pre-ordering. Before this I was a bit undecided on the matter but these people have convinced me.
So I'm going to pre-order Xanathar's purely out of spite. I don't even care that I'm getting pre-order bonuses. I only care that it will upset these people. Because they're being ridiculous.
The whole campaign would have been excellent even if they removed the feats, you get to play with the app and a background.
I'm grateful for the content and effort the curse team puts in, but at my table we follow AL balanced rules and don't use homebrew.
I just worry that my players will be confused when they make new characters they will accidentally pick feats that are not made or balanced by WoTC and Crawford.
Trying to pre-order, I keep getting something called "avs bad gateway" or something :( I could use some help because I really don't wanna miss out. So who can I contact about this?
Quick question on the app Alpha. Is this a 1st come, 1st serve, or is it that those with the Legendary Bundle get the 1st slots, then followed by non-Legendary bundle owners?
They have the exact same impact and ease of exclusion, not to mention the fact that each content on DDB clearly states the origin of any content, so by just saying "ok, you can create your character with everything bar stuff that comes from xyz" should be more than enough to clarify to your players what they should not use. If they still get confused, you might want to find different people to play with.
Are there plans to allow access to character sheets via the mobile application in the future?
