You are set firmly against the ruling class of whatever nation you live in/ lived in. Why? The answer is different for everyone. Maybe your family instilled firm beliefs against them when you were young. Maybe your friends were wronged or even killed by them. Maybe you were morally obligated to fight. Maybe the ruler is a tyrant. Or maybe, it was just advantageous for you to do so.

As an enemy of the state, you are familiar with the criminal underground. The dregs of society may not all fight with you, but they can usually respect and/or agree with you. Even if you don't partake in the more non-virtuous acts out of pride, you probably made some connections. And if you do, you probably have quite the reputation. You have gained skills either as a proud face of your movement, or a shadow that does the dirty work that doesn't need to be seen by the public so as to keep your organization in a good light to the common people.

Skill Proficiencies: Pick two from Athletics, Deception, History, Stealth, and Sleight of Hand.
Tool Proficiencies: (Only take if taking one language)

Pick one Artisan's Tools OR Thieve's Tools.

Languages: Any two languages or one language and one Tool Proficiency. (Including Thieve's Cant)
Equipment: An insignia of your resistance movement (can be a piece of jewelry, a tattoo, a flag, etc.), commoner's clothes, and a pouch of 15 gp.

Feature: Crows of a Feather

You can find help in the outcasts and like-minded in your society. If you are in an area where your revolution is taking/ took place, NPCs that are on your side will help you happily (Advantage on Persuasion) if they know that you are. Beware, though! If they are on the other side, they won't like you very much (Disadvantage on Persuasion) and may even be hostile to you! A successful DC 5 Perception or Insight check can help you ascertain what side they're on, and if you pass with a DC of 20 you can tell if they are genuine or if they are faking their support for whatever cause they rally behind.
