Steward Image

You started as an apprentice to a scribe, who taught you all about reading and writing.  You were trained in numbers, and how to use them.  After you were taught all you could be taught by the scribe, you were sent to work under the steward at a castle or large household.  You learned how to manage the affairs of a large house.  You learned how to manage the staff who performed all the tasks required to make life for the family who employed you run smoothly.  You learned to manage the money that was provided for the operation of the house, such as paying the staff and purchasing all the food and materials required.  You learned to work with the businesses in town, and traders and merchants who provided what was needed by the household.

Skill Proficiencies: In your training to see to the needs of a large household, you became adept in Perception and and Insight.  You learned to see the needs of the family before they became a problem.  You learned to be aware of problems in the house long before they even came to the notice of the family.  You learned how to think quickly, to solve problems before they became something worse.
Tool Proficiencies: Depending on the type of household you managed, your skills with tools may vary.   You do know the basic tools necessary to run a large household, however, and will be granted those skills.
Languages: You know common, and you know the language(s) spoken in the household where you were employed.
Equipment: Like tools, your equipment will vary, depending on the type of household you worked in.

Feature: Calligrapher

While training under a Calligrapher, you learned the skills necessary to create books, or to write letters.  In turn, these skills gave you the ability to write letters that might appeal to others to see things in the way you see them.  Perhaps, you have also learned to copy the writing of others, perhaps to the level of pretending to be someone else in your writing.  You are proficient in letters, either way, and you can identify inks and papers by their quality.  You especially know how to care for and use pens and inks.

Suggested Characteristics

You are very organized, especially when it comes to organizing others.  You are a natural leader, though you are perfectly comfortable working behind the scenes and allowing someone else to take the credit.  You are good at finding what others are good at, in recognizing their skills, and knowing where best those skills are used.

Contacts

You are known to the merchants and traders in the area.  Your reputation for handing and running a household are well known, and the contacts of your former employer are known to you also.
