Perhaps you've long since given up on making a name for yourself, or perhaps your only talent is in transcribing the works of others. You may even be a particularly talented kenku or a changeling, someone prone to copying and deception to the point where that is your true calling. Whatever the reason, you're a skilled maker of artistic reproductions, and just as skilled as passing them off as the genuine article.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from the following: Perception, Investigation, Deception, Persuasion
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose two from the following: Calligrapher's Supplies, Cartographer's Tools, Jeweler's Tools, Leatherworker's Tools, Mason's Tools, Painter's Supplies, Potter's Tools, Weaver's Tools, or Woodcarver's Tools
- Languages: None
- Equipment: Two tool sets you are proficient in, a set of fine clothes, a magnifying glass, and a pouch containing 15 GP.
You may spend five minutes studying a work of art and make an Investigation check, with a DC equal to 1 for every 100GP the work of art is worth. If you succeed, you gain a +1 to any future attempt to replicate it so long as you are proficient in the required tools. If you beat the DC by 5 or more, you gain an additional +1 for each 5 you beat the DC by. The help action does not effect this check, however you can gain advantage on the check if you spend one hour studying the work instead of five minutes. If you choose to study the work again, you can improve this bonus to future forgeries, but only by exceeding prior results. It is not cumulative. You may only use this feature on the same work of art once per day.
Suggested Characteristics
A master forger has a keen eye and a silver tongue, but rarely a heart of gold. Deceit is your bread and butter, and you may find it difficult to be honest whether or not the situation demands it.
