You are a member of an elite guild, the Order of The Nocturnal. You have spent your life learning and training in the ways of the land's most skilled assassins. You've walked among the highest nobility and the lowest street-rats and have learned one thing: everything comes to an end. The Order only accepts children as initiates, the majority of these coming from the families of those already in the Order; others coming from abandoned children left at the gates of one of the Order's Monasteries, or the children orphaned by the Order's activities. The Order worships the shadows and the twilight, with the majority of members being Shadow Monks, Twilight Clerics, or a combination of those and other classes. 

Suggested Characteristics

Being raised from a young age in the Order, it is one of the most important things to you - all members are blood to you. Being raised in a monastery means you will have developed away from the prying eyes of the world, however you will have undergone many "field trips" at night to learn about the arts of the Nocturnal, this means that you will not have seen much of the outside world during daylight unless you are a seasoned adventurer.

1	Whenever I meet someone new, I determine at least three different ways I could kill them-- just in case.
2	I always maintain my composure, no matter the situation. Losing control is handing someone else a way to control you.
3	The first thing I do when I walk in a room is note the locations of the exits; you'll be hard pressed to trap me somewhere I don't want to be.
4	Flirting with strangers in a bar is the best way to sharpen your charm and wit.
5	I only do what I believe in. That way if I die doing it, I'll die proudly.
6	The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it.
7	I don't take kindly to someone questioning my ability, and I'll blow up at the slightest insult
8	I have a strong code of honour that others don't understand.

1	Tradition. The hierarchy and traditions of the Order have always been this way-- and for good reason. Why fix something that's not broken? (Lawful)
2	Change. If things remain stagnant for too long, perhaps the decision makers at the top need to be taken out. (Chaotic)
3	Integrity. I have one rule: I'm not killing innocents. They've done nothing to deserve this. (Good)
4	No Mercy. Those who make mistakes should be prepared to pay for them with their lives, regardless of status or age. (Evil)
5	Objectivity. All orders and information should be considered before action. Nothing can be blindly trusted. (Neutral)
6	Aspiration. I have dreams outside of the Order, and I will do whatever it takes to achieve them. (Any)

1	I owe my life to the Order for all it has provided my family and me.
2	I aim to become a councillor of the Order some day.
3	I chose the Order over the love of my life. I'm not sure it was the right decision.
4	I owe my life to an old friend, one day they will call in that debt.
5	I will find my sibling, they left the Order and I don't know who I'd be more loyal to.
6	I have few close friends but those that I do I protect with a fiery passion.

d6	Flaw
1	I hate telling personal information about myself, but I often want to know the personal info of others.
2	I blindly believe in the Order and will, without thought, follow any orders that come my way.
3	Get in. Do the job. Get out. Easy Peasy. Any plan beyond that is a waste of my time.
4	I drown the horrors of what I've done in drink and other carnal pleasures, so much so that I often lose the ability to function.
5	I refuse to own up to my mistakes and will pawn the blame off on someone else.
6	Empathy is a handicap that only gets in the way of what I want and need.
