You come from the mountainous Tau's Landing, where the Highland Rito nest. There are many jobs needed to keep the colourful and snowy landscape productive and thriving. One can find their calling at many of the different positions within the tribe. Should they not feel like they are useful at their chosen position, they are free to try any other they wish. Hidden above the cloud cover is the expansive and complicated connections of the village. Homes built upon outcroppings and steppes connect with pathways all leading to one another into the heart of the village; a cluster of larger buildings, connecting only to one another, and circling a gentle pond, where mountain water trickles down from the Sage Perch at the summit of the mountain. Fields stretch out along the cliff face, holding staple crop in the fertile soil, the sun warming the snow and encouraging the plants to happily spread their roots and grow.
The hierarchy of the tribe is very fluid, as each family is represented by a chief, chosen at the end of every season. Each Chief tries to get the best for each of their representative families, and will debate then vote on which crops are priority, which fish to hunt, what they should about any potential visitors, and if any new homes should be built. The only static members are the Elders and Sages. While neither are viable for Chief representation, they are often looked upon for their opinions on the seasonal crops, Ocean currents, star movements, and other wisdom often necessary in deciding the Tribe's comings and goings. Other positions within the tribe are: Weaver, Hunter, Reaper, Scout, Scribe, and Sea Guard.
The tribe is mildly xenophobic, and distrusts visitors of the lower areas of the island. While they don't attack those making landfall on the lower mountains, the Sea Guard will intentionally cause "accidents" that discourage would-be guests from reaching the first landings of the village. Many people are discouraged from climbing before they reach the summit of the lower mountains, and some of the more tenacious climbers are stopped before reaching the mountain's cloud cover. So far in the Tribe's history, only 25 people have made it to the village in the last 100 years.

Suggested Characteristics
A folk hero is one of the common people, for better or for worse. Most folk heroes look on their humble origins as a virtue, not a shortcoming, and their home communities remain very important to them.
