Tinkerer often sounds too simple to describe the array of skills and talents you possess. From building intricate timepieces (or explosive charges), to mechanical appliances, to large engineering marvels, your skills and knowledge of science, engineering, chemistry, and other studies is uncommon. You cannot help but study, dissect, investigate, or analyze, knowing that there is just something around the mental corner that can improve on anything.

You recognize other craftsmen easily by the appearance of their hands, facial injuries, demeanor, or just that look in their eyes. You have advantage on the first charisma check with other craftsmen. Once rapport is established and your fellow trusts you sufficiently, your fellow craftsman will offer you lodging in their workshop/smithy/etc. Services/equipment rental is half price. This can be offset buy providing a service yourself to your fellow. You might be able to obtain a discount on goods and wares, but unlikely as you know as well as anybody that craftsmen drive a hard bargain.

Whether motivated by profit, power, ambition, knowledge, or benevolence, you are able to identify ways to make the world a more convenient place to live. Think about how constantly seeing all the world's inconveniences affect you. You might be a scatter-brained and unable to focus on one problem at a time, you might be weary of all the ponderous inventions you see in the world, or you might get a visceral thrill when solving a problem.
