You have spent your life in a small cult, worshipping a strange and mysterious entity. You travel the lands, trying to increase the size of your family, by any means necessary.
Choose an entity to serve, and work with your DM to detail the nature of your religious service.
Were you a founder of the cult, in direct connection to your God? Or were you born into the cult, having it be the only family?
- Skill Proficiencies: Persuasion, Religion
- Languages: Two of your choice
- Equipment: A holy symbol, a dagger, a prayer book or prayer wheel, 5 sticks of incense, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.
As a cultist, you search for more people to join your religion. You can approach those who are down on their luck (beggars, slaves, prisoners) and convince them to join your cult, gaining the friendship and support of new members, current members, and your deity.
You might also have ties to a specific temple dedicated to your chosen deity or pantheon, and you have a residence there. This could be the temple where you used to serve, if you remain on good terms with it, or a temple where you have found a new home. While near your temple, you can call upon the priests for assistance, provided the assistance you ask for is not hazardous and you remain in good standing with your temple.
Suggested Characteristics
Cultists are shaped by their experience in temples or other religious communities. All they know is their God and their only family is the cult. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
