You grew up outside of cities and by a clan that you consider your family. Big or small, blood-related or not, you know what it's like to grow up in a tight-knit community with ready access to the support you need. What you do is for the clan, and what the clan does is for you. No matter how far you go or who you leave behind, you will always have a place to go back to.
Maybe your clan moved around, or maybe they stayed in one place. Regardless, a clan is self-reliant and you've learned enough to be both independent and a provider. Your clan is not ignorant of the world. They spent your whole life preparing you for it, so that if you one day leave, you will one day come back.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Athletics, Survival, Animal Handling, Medicine, Persuasion, Intimidation, Nature, or Religion
- Tool Proficiencies: One tool or musical instrument, and one gaming set, of your choice.
- Languages: Choose one language
- Equipment: A set of traveler’s clothes, a symbol or memorabilia from your clan, a set of tools or an instrument of your choice, and a pouch containing 15 gp
Whatever it is you learned growing up, you know it well. Whenever you need to recall something about your clan, anything related to it, or the land you lived, it comes easy. Likewise, while you're in your homeland, dealing with the people there and locating areas of interest is also easier for you. Discuss with your DM how this may be done, like simply making those checks with advantage.
Additionally, your clan can be a source of information. Depending on your clan's circumstances, they can get you in touch with people/places according to your needs. Much like the "Criminal Contact" feature, you know how to get messages to and from them, even over great distances.
Suggested Characteristics
Growing up as you did, you are both independent and capable of managing a large group of people. This can make you a valuable companion, but the people you meet on your adventures may never measure up to those in your clan.
