The Order of the Foundlings Institution, Adventuring Guild
In the late 15th century, sometime after the War of the Silver Marches of 1485 DR, the city of Bryn Shander was attacked by a group of Frost Giants, led by their leader Drufi. The Giants attacked the city looking for Artus Cimber, expecting to acquire a specific artifact, the Ring of Winter. The attack was thwarted by the city's inhabitants with the help of many adventurers. [Source below, #1]
Several brave groups of children were indispensable in helping defend the leaders of Bryn Shander against the Frost Giants, though many were hurt during the attack. Drufi overlooked these children during the final battle, allowing them to help the city turn the tide of the battle in the final moments.
The city's leaders and defenders gathered the fallen hero’s children, healing them and raising them to both honor the dead and to help fight against future incursions. Thus began The Order of the Foundlings Institution Adventuring Guild, trained by the best to become the next generation's defenders.
Patrons of The Order of Foundlings Institution are part of the Council of Bryn Shander: City's Lord Watch Commander (Ftr), Church Patriarch (Clr), City's chief Justiciar (Pal), City's Chief Ranger Knight (Rng), City's Thaumaturgist (Wiz), Guild Overseer (Thf), and the current ruler of the city Bryn Shander: Speaker Duvessa Shane
Daily leadership of the Order is in the hands of the Council, composed of the heads of the town's informal trade groups.
Several members of the Council:
Duvessa Shane, Elder Councilor and Speaker of Bryn Shander
Sirac: Councilor and meember of the House of the Triad
Vaelish Gant, Councilor and member of the Arcane Brotherhood in Icewind Dale
Baric Nylef: Councilor and knight of Tyr
Markham Southwell: Councilor and sheriff of Bryn Shander
It is now ten years after the attack, and the first class are ready.
