Haunted by strange dreams, you feel an urge to heed the call of a mysterious figure who seems to guide your actions through otherworldly means. You may notice strange signs in your waking life: following these signs generally seems to lead to better outcomes for you.

What was your life like before the dreams started? Maybe you can hardly remember, or maybe it's all part of the same story...

Choose a god, a pantheon of gods, or some other quasi-divine being, and work with your DM to detail the nature of their communication with your character. The Gods of the Multiverse section contains a sample pantheon, from the Forgotten Realms setting.

Skill Proficiencies: Insight
Languages: You gain proficiency in the language of your mystic patron.
Equipment: A set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp. In addition, you carry a small token that reminds you of a dream you once had (for example: a coin with an unusual engraving, a strange ring, a small carved figure, or a sprig of dried flowers). Whenever you try to think about how you obtained this item, you feel dizzy. If you try to get rid of it or destroy it, you find it back in your pocket some time later.

Feature: Mystic guidance
When you take a long rest, roll 1d6. If the result is less than or equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), you experience a strange and unusually vivid dream. The DM may, at their option, choose to use this opportunity to convey some information your patron has revealed to you.
