You have been trained to fight against monstrosities and other threats to civilisation by either an organisation or a specialised military branch dedicated to this cause. You are not only trained in physical or magical combat, but also in identifying and tracking your target monster, as well as potentially setting traps for them.

- Tool Proficiencies: Choose one of the following: Alchemist's Supplies, Herbalism Kit, Poisoner's Kit
- Languages: Choose one of the following language (Abyssal, Common, Dwarvish, Elvish, Celestial, Deep Speech, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, Sylvan, or Undercommon)
- Equipment: A gear pack (Explorer's or Dungeoneer's), A ranged weapon(like a Hand Crossbow, Longbow or Heavy Crossbow), A Hunter's Notebook, one of the tools you gain proficiency with, 5 glass vials, 3 small containers for materials to study and a pouch containing 10 gp
Woods folk recognize you as someone who works to kill the beasts and monsters that stalk their domain. Were you all in a city you would be considered a trusted guard stalking the night in search of murderers and brigands. Rangers, hunters, guides, and other such creatures will provide aid, lodging, and are more likely to answer the call to hunt dangerous prey through their respective terrain.
Feature: Hunter's Notes
As part of your training, you have been taught to study a creature to better know more about them, and to keep notes of your findings. You have a notebook in which you can take various notes about the monsters you fight.
Studying a monster outside of combat may give you an idea on its hunting behaviour and let you set a trap better. Studying the corpse may let you figure things out like its damage output, approximate health or armour class. Facing or seeing one in battle may help you figure out how well it fights.
Your DM can have you roll a nature or survival check to make accurate notes.
If you have successfully identified a creature and have notes on it, you may use those notes to gain advantage in tracking it.
At your DMs discretion, you may start with notes on a couple monsters in your notebook.
Suggested Characteristics
There are many reasons you could have taken up the hunt such as vengeance for a village or loved one destroyed, for the glory and thrill of hunting such dangerous game, or simply to be a protector of the people and rid the world of its terrors. Though anyone can hunt a monster it is rare for another monster to do so, still someone so accustomed to out-of-doors living generally holds a bit of disdain for local lords and their law.
