
You've done a fair bit of dungeon delving before, but you were just making sure the people doing the actual work could see without taking up a hand. As a torch bearer, not only are your eyes are sharp, and your hands are quick. Something you saw down in the deep dark dank secrets of the world inspired you to become and adventurer. Time to start your journey, and maybe one day, have a torch bearer of your own.
- Skill Proficiencies: Your eyes have to be sharp for danger when the others aren't looking, you gain proficiency in Perception. Your hands also have to be quick to not only grab a torch, but to light it when needed, you gain proficiency in Sleight of Hand.
- Tool Proficiencies: Sometimes you have to make a torch by hand in dire circumstances, good thing you know how, you gain proficiency in Woodcarver's Tools.
Torch bearers have to come from somewhere, and this tool represents that, you gain proficiency in any tool.
- Equipment: You get 10 torches, Woodcarvers tools, any tool you are proficient with, and 5 gold from your last dungeon delving.
You've had to learn how to get light to the party, and how to do it quickly. You can light a torch as a reaction or bonus action instead of an action when in combat.
Suggested Characteristics
Torch bearers can be newbies to the work that happen to have beginners luck, or beacons of light for seasoned veterans who rely on their existence. The things you may have seen or have yet to see can change your personality.
