d10 | Origin |
---|---|
1 | Material - you are from one of the miriad material planes, i.e. Oerth, Toril, Mystara, Athas, Eberron, etc. |
2 | Echo - you are from one of the planes that mirror the material realm, i.e. Feywild, Shadowfell, Asteral |
3 | Transitive - planes that act as waystations and passageways between other planes, i.e. Astral, Etherial, Deep Ethereal, The Outlands, Elemental Chaos, Demiplanes |
4 | Inner - the elemental planes, i.e. Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Elemental Chaos |
5 | Upper - positively aligned planes, i.e. Archadia, Mount Celestia, Bytopia, Elysium, The Beastlands, Arboria, Ysgard |
6 | Lower - negativly aligned planes, i.e. Acheron, The Nine Hells, Gehenna, Hades, Carceri, The Abyss, Pandemonium |
7 | Law - firm and strictly ordered planes, i.e. Bytopia, Mount Celestia, Archadia, Mechanus, Acheron, The Nine Hells, Gehenna |
8 | Chaos - unordered, volitile, and unpredictable planes, i.e. The Beastlands, Arborea, Ysgard, Limbo, Pandemonium, The Abyss, Carceri |
9 | Extremis - the planes in most extreme and purest form of themselves, i.e. Mechanus, Elysium, Limbo, Hades, The Far Realm, The Dreamlands, The Positive Plane, The Negative Plane, Demiplanes |
10 | Life - Planes tied to the lifecycle of mortals, i.e. The Positive Plane, a Material Plane, Astral, Limbo, an Outer Plane, The Negative Plane |
You are able to automatically recognize portals leading to your planar Origin and have advantage on rolls to determine where on that plane the portal will lead. For example a Triton with Origin of Inner would most likely be from the elemental plane of water, could still automatically recognize a volcanic portal leading to the elemental plane of fire, and would have advantage trying to find out that the portal leads directly to the City of Brass.
You also have advantage trying to detect portals leading to any other part of the cosmos, determining to which plane of the cosmos they lead, what conditions to expect there, and information about the creatures that reside in that plane.
Suggested Characteristics
Some planes have very regimented cultures while others are virtual wilderness, there are some on constant turmoil, and others are near stasis. The variety of gravitational, temporal, elemental, social, psychic, and conditions for which mortal do not even have words may result in any variety of personalities.
