Way Of White Image

You have spent your life in the service of others through the performance of Miracles. You act as an intermediary between the realm of the mighty and the weak, performing sacred rites  in order to conduct worshipers into the presence of the lords of the world. You are not necessarily a cleric—performing sacred rites is not the same thing as channeling divine power. This is not explicitly a religious society in the sense that it worships a divine being. The Way of White is a covenant of like minded individuals who bring hope to the world through healing and self sacrifice.

Members of the Way of White see themselves as caretakers of the Undead in the world, as the general public lacks the innate ability to become a Lord. As you help others in the world and perform the duties of your covenant you will gain various healing and protection abilities to provide further aid.

Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Medicine
Languages: Celestial
Equipment: A holy symbol (a gift to you when you entered the covenant), a prayer book or prayer wheel (use to cast your miracles), 5 sticks of incense, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.

Feature: Shelter of the Faithful

As an acolyte, you command the respect of those who share your covenant. You and your adventuring companions can expect to receive free healing and care at a temple, shrine, or other established presence of your faith, though you must provide any material components needed for spells. Those who share your covenant will support you (but only you) at a modest lifestyle.

You have ties to the Way of White Cathedral in Anor Londo, where you dutifully trained to be ready to travel and help the people of the world.

Suggested Characteristics

Acolytes are shaped by their experience in temples or other communities. Their study of the history and tenets of their faith and their relationships to temples, shrines, or hierarchies affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.

Do not think of faith as in faith in a higher power. In this world, the closest thing to a God is the Lords of the Kingdom. Your faith comes from the ability to study and know that the strength of a Lord can be achieved through discipline, study, and self sacrifice, for power is not given but taken.

1 I idolize a particular hero of my faith, and constantly refer to that person’s deeds and example.
2 I can find common ground between the fiercest enemies, empathizing with them and always working toward peace.

5 I am suspicious of strangers and expect the worst of them.
6 Once I pick a goal, I become obsessed with it to the detriment of everything else in my life.
