The Darkwraiths are a Covenant that are looked down upon by the world; most people do not understand their goals, they only know that Darkwraiths openly embrace the Abyss in pursuit of them.
Darkwraiths serve Darkstalker Kaathe, a Primordial Serpent who wishes to end the Age of Fire and usher in an Age of Darkness. Kaathe believes the Age of Fire only hurts humanity, as prolonging it is what created the Curse of the Undead to begin with and automatically places them at the mercy of the powerful. Darkwraiths seek to influence the world from the shadows in order to create a world where Humanity acts as their own leaders and does not rely on the protection and governance of the Lords of Fire.
Darkwraiths use the Abyss, but it is just as likely the Abyss uses them. As Darkwraiths gain more powers from the Abyss, so too is their likelihood of losing their mind and their autonomy to the powers that exist deep within. The Abyss is a tool to a Darkwraith, but not one without dangers or consequences.

You have a reliable and trustworthy contact who acts as your liaison to a network of other Darkwraiths. You know how to get messages to and from your contact, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.
Suggested Characteristics
Darkwraiths might seem like villains on the surface, and many of them are villainous to the core. But some have an abundance of endearing, if not redeeming, characteristics. There might be honor in the Shadows, but they rarely show respect for the structures of society and the world at large.
IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU KEEP THIS COVENANT AFFILIATION SECRET.
Blades of the Darkmoon exist solely to directly oppose the influence of Darkwraiths in the world, and it is wise to use subterfuge to influence them along a path of your choosing instead of open conflict with them, as they have honed their skills for years against the Abyss and those who would wield it.
