The Dwendalian Empire invests a significant amount of time and money training those that serve in the Righteous Brand. Medics are the stewards of that investment, seeing to the daily medical needs of their squads and providing stabilizing care in combat until the wounded can be evacuated to the clerics in the rear.
An initiative of Martinet Da'Leth, the Medical Corps trains aspiring medics at the Hall of Erudition in Zadash; far from the Imperial influence of Rexxentrum or Bladegarden. This close association with the Cerebus Assembly means that former medics are as likely to be adventurers as they are to be mercenaries.
- Skill Proficiencies: Medicine, Nature
- Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit, Alchemist's Supplies
- Equipment: A Combat Medic insignia, a copy of "The medic's pocket guide to common injuries and ailments", a Healer's Kit, a Righteous Brand uniform, and a pouch containing 5 gold
Healers are well-loved by both the soldiers they serve with and the common folk they aid when stationed in or near a settlement. You can find a place to rest and recuperate among commoners, veterans and some active duty soldiers. Commoners and active duty soldiers will shield you as long as it doesn't endanger their lives, and veterans might risk it all for you, especially if you have formerly served with them.
Suggested Characteristics
The bonds of brotherhood amid shared adversity leave an inedible mark on those who serve. This is even more true for medics are given the sometimes impossible task of saving the lives of their brothers and sisters in arms. The temperament of former medics can range from sunny optimism to bleak nihilism. Regardless of their temperament, no war-time medic escapes their service without mental scars.
