You have spent your formative years being trained for the burden, and honor, of constant underground combat, You are a proud Dwarven Defender, one of the many that keeps the underground parts of the Dwarven Kingdoms safe from incursions and invasions by the denizens of the Underdark.

 
Skill Proficiencies: Through harrowing training and constant duty your Athleticism and Perception of your surroundings have increased.
Tool Proficiencies: You have gained the knowledge required to use Cartographer's Tools to make maps from constantly having to update your own with mining tunnels and cave passages.
Languages: You have been trained in the language of Undercommon, so that you may interrogate and spy upon enemy combatants.
Equipment: Having recently finished your Tour of Duty and been discharged with Honor you have been allowed to keep the following equipment.

An armor set of your choice (Studded Leather, Spiked Armor or Chainmail), a dagger taken from a defeated enemy, a mining pick and a money pouch containing what remains of your last paycheck (15 gold).

 
Feature: Honored Defender of the Stout Folk

If you are carrying or can produce your insignia of service you will always have free room and board in any place where surface dwarves dwell, and the individuals in such a settlement might vie among themselves to determine who can offer you (and possibly your compatriots) the finest accommodations and assistance.

You will also have advantage on any social interactions with dwarves aware of your service.
