Wars are waged and battles are fought. Merchants are robbed and travelers murdered. Others consumed by their desire for water, and others by nature herself. Here in the desert, only those truly prepared can thrive under the beating sun. Those that don't survive are buried in the sands of time, leaving nothing but their belongings and bones behind. Many avoid such scenes and sites, fearing the undead and the curses they hold; however, those that are brave enough, or extremely foolish, set out to recover what others failed to hold onto. From grave sites, to mass burials, to forgotten battlefields, scavengers thrive off what others lack the will to collect. They face the odds from forgotten magics to the average predator to few who actual survived. Society and many of the deities overseeing the lands very much despise these actions...

Whenever you see something that could be of value, you have a vague estimate of its worth, as well as some interesting information about the item, if there is anything interesting to know. If you fail any checks to identify the value of an item, you learn of someone or someplace where you can have the item's value measured, unless the DM deems the item too rare or obscure.
Suggested Characteristics
Scavengers are often not trusted by the common folk of the land, however those of desert know the importance of using what's at hand. When they go to sell whats unneeded, the traders, vendors, and collectors know not to ask how these goods were acquired.
