What do you want to be when you grow up? It's a question every adult you have ever met has asked. For you, it was an excuse to daydream while growing up. Everyone in your family knows you will continue to share the load just as your siblings/cousins have. Or at least it was until you started showing promise. A child with the growing mind of an adult, what is it that caused you to set off adventuring, leave your life behind before adulthood, and take on the responsibilities beyond your age?
- Skill Proficiencies: You are young, and as such haven't had time to fully develop any proficient skills.
- Tool Proficiencies: You have proficiency with a dagger and one simple weapon.
- Languages: You begin knowing only the primary language spoken within your household. For many that would be common.
- Equipment: You start off with a dagger, a set of commoner's clothes, and a keepsake from your childhood (you may choose or roll from the trinkets table).
As a child, you are looked upon fondly by most of society. Unless the area you are in is directly hostile, you can find refuge within any home that already has children within it. You are immediately trusted and treated like one of the other children. As well, if any being with an intelligence above 12 goes to strike you they must make a charisma saving throw (DC 15) due to your being a child. On a fail, the being must pick another target. Beings with the evil alignment automatically pass.
Suggested Characteristics
As a child, you are still uninformed on the ways of the world and social implications of it. You are apt to latch onto another individual, especially a mentor, and trust and defend them indefinitely.
