Awakened shrub classes
Some awakened shrubs just want to fulfill their purpose and dont want to do anything else with their lives, is your shrub like that? Or does it want more?

 

Awakened shrub (Barbarian)

Do you have a purpose for wich your master awakened you? If you do, what is the relation between your purpose and you being a barbarian? Did you become a barbarian to fulfill your purpose? Did you run away from your purpose because you are a barbarian and it doesnt fit with your purpose? What is the cause for your rage in combat? Do you see it as a blessing from nature? Do you rage out of the need to protect the ones you love and care about, or maybe to protect nature?

Awakened shrub (Bard)

Most awakened shrubs are awakened for a special purpose, were you? Have you already fulfilled yours? Or did you walk away from the person that awakened you after they no longer controlled you, maybe you are still trying to fulfill your purpose and you want to use your bard skills to do so. As an awakened shrub it is quite hard to play instruments or sing, did it come naturally to you, or did you learn it through hard work and perseverance? Did you learn it yourself or did your master teach you to be a bard? Are you good at it, or are you still learning the basics? How do you feel about using wooden instruments? Maybe you refuse to use them, you being a plant yourself, so maybe you dont want to have your brethren murdered to make furniture and items. Maybe you dont have a choice but to use them, or maybe you just dont care.

Awakened shrub (Cleric)

How did you become a cleric? Is it related to your purpose? Or did you become a cleric after fulfilling your purpose or maybe youve abandoned your purpose after you realised it was a terrible thing to do and sought redemption at a temple. There are many gods to serve and as an awakened shrub you most likely are attracted to a nature god, but you dont have to be ofcourse, maybe you hate your master for awakening you and you want to call upon the gods of death and disease to bring them to justice.

Awakened shrub (Druid)

As an awakened shrub you have a strong connection with nature, maybe you were even awakened by a druid. The most important thing in the life of most awakened shrubs is the purpose for wich their master awakened them, what is yours? Do you even have one? And if you do, do you want to fulfill it or not? Maybe you became a druid to prevent your master from achieving what he wants, or to help him. Maybe you already fulfilled your purpose or ran away and now youre living your own life as a druid. If you became a druid to fulfill your purpose was it your own idea to do so or did your master make you a druid?

Awakened shrub (Fighter)

As an awakened shrub you can attack with your vines, roots or branches, but thats not enough for some, some awakened shrubs learn to use weapons effectively, wich is quite hard when you dont really have hands. You managed to learn to wield a weapon however, did this come naturally to you, or did you train long and hard before you could even hold a weapon? Why did you learn to fight? Was it for your purpose? Was it to defend yourself, or maybe your master, or the forest? If you despise your master and the purpose he awakened you for, maybe you became a fighter to defend people against his schemes or to hunt him down and kill him. Or maybe you had a different ambition altogether, to become a bodyguard of the king for example.

Awakened shrub (Monk)

Awakened shrubs have no hands, but their unarmed strikes are made with branches, roots or vines. An awakened shrub that has become a monk has probably been awakened in a monastery, or by a cleric. Your purpose is greater then just to slay a certain monster, but is a spiritual journey and your master didnt give it to because he was selfish, but because he thinks it will make you grow as a person when you fulfill it. Awakened shrub monks will often want to fulfill their purpose and wont run away from their master to live their own lives.

Awakened shrub (Paladin)

The master of an awakened shrub paladin is often a warlock devoted to a demon, in wich case the awakened shrub ran away to fight demons, because he saw what evil the demon could do. Or the master is a different magic user and the shrub fulfilled the purpose they were awakened for already and go to live their own life and do good things. A good question to ask yourself about your awakened shrub paladin is: "What is their relation to evil forces?" For example their druids grove could have been destroyed by demons or forces of evil and from that moment the shrub swore to dedicate their life to fighting evil.

Awakened shrub (Ranger)

Awakened shrubs often have a deep bond with nature, due to them growing up in nature and being awakened by someone with a strong connection with nature. Tracking things down as an awakened shrub isnt as hard as you would expect, due to the magic that awakened the shrubs allowing them to perceive their environment just as a humanoid would. An important question to ask yourself is how your shrub became a ranger. Druids often awaken shrubs and sometimes druid circles work together with rangers, so that could be a way your shrub became a ranger. Most shrubs have a hard time using weapons and ranged weapons are even more complicated, did wielding weapons come easily to your shrub? Or was it hard for them to learn? Stealth is easier to learn for a shrub, because it looks like a normal shrub when standing still and its plant colors blend well with the environment.

Awakened shrub (Rogue)

Awakened shrubs can be quite good at stealth, due to them looking like normal plants when standing still. Most awakened shrubs arent rogues, how did your shrub become a rogue? Maybe the shrub ran away from its master, to a city and learned to steal stuff there, because they liked to fool people with their appearance so they could get away with what they did? Maybe they moved to a big city and a thieves guild saw potential in a creature that could look so inconspicuous and didnt know any better? Maybe it was usefull for your purpose to become a rogue and be stealthy?

Awakened shrub (Sorcerer)

Sorcerers have magic in their bodies and learn to channel that magic into spells. Awakened shrubs were given sentience by magic. Maybe your shrub got awakened and there was a bit too much magic and some of that magic stayed inside the shrub, giving it the ability to cast spells by channeling that magic. It could also be that your shrub wasnt awakened by a person, but by a deity and that deity gave it magic to help it fulfill its purpose.

Awakened shrub (Warlock)

Most awakened shrubs are awakened by a druid or someone that cares a lot about nature, some however are awakened by warlocks that have learned a spell from their patron to do so. Or in some cases a patron awakened the shrub itself. Maybe your shrub ran away from its original purpose to serve a patron, maybe it was awakened by a warlock and now has a pacf with the same patron as the warlock, willingly, or unwillingly. Maybe it was awakened by a patron that gave it its sentience, purpose and magic capabilities.

Awakened shrub (Wizard)

An awakened shrub was given sentience through magic and some want to learn to use magic themselves, just like wizards. Why does your shrub want to learn to use magic, does it want to be able to give sentience to more plants? Maybe it will help it fulfill its purpose, maybe it has already fulfilled its purpose and now lives its own life and it finds magic fascinating?
