Before setting out as an adventurer, you spent your days writing. Perhaps you are an author, in search of your next inspiration. Maybe you worked at a library, copying books and studying the world outside. Whatever the reason, you’ve decided to set down your pen, at least temporarily, to catch a glimpse of the world you’ve so often read (and written) about.

Suggested Characteristics
A scribe can have many different personalities. Many tend to be bookish, quiet, and introverted. They may be motivated by the possible discovery of ancient scrolls or forgotten writings. An eccentric author may be haphazard in their pursuit of a story, pushing ahead and getting into trouble for the sake of inspiration. An accomplished criminal (forger) might seem to be disinterested, while quietly gathering information for their own purposes. Whatever their personality, they likely keep a journal, writing notes of events for future reference or inspiration.
Rather than working in a library or as an author, you put your skilled penmanship to work for darker purposes. You work in the shadows, providing forgeries and false documents for those who offer enough money.
Replace your calligrapher’s tools proficiency with a forgery kit proficiency. Instead of a copy of your latest work, you will have fake documents for your personal use containing several false identities. Replace the calligrapher’s tools in your equipment with a forgery kit.
Familiar with forgeries and fake identities, you have advantage on insight (wis) checks when attempting to discern a fake document or a false personality. You also have advantage on investigation (int) checks that require searching through books or other writing.
