Mortician, embalmer, keeper of the dead - you are generally the last person to enter someone's life, and the last person someone wants to be around anyway. Although your services to your village are important and surprisingly specialized, people are far happier when they can just pretend that you and your cart don't exist.
- Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Religion
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose one of Alchemist's Supplies, Mason's Tools, Carpenter's Tools or Woodcarver's Tools
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: A set of Alchemist's Supplies, Carpenter's Tools or Mason's Tools, Woodcarver's Tools (your choice), a shovel, a religious symbol, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 GP.
Feature: Grave Ghost
- Due to your association with the dead, most people would prefer to avoid and ignore you. Common people who see you going about activities that could be believed to be part of your work, such as transporting dead bodies or entering homes, will assume you have a right to be doing whatever you are engaged in, so long as you are not endangering them. In addition, your presence in a cemetery or graveyard, or a church or temple attached to such, will not be questioned, so long as your actions or behavior are respectful.
Suggested Characteristics
Gravediggers are changed by their association with the dead. They see everyone reduced to their most mortal state, and are aware of the final fate of every living being. They understand the realities of life, but may become jaded towards the living.
