Revenge

You lived through a tragic event when so many others did not.  Your life was utterly changed by the violence of others, and you lost those you loved to that same violence.  The life you lived before has become a fading dream that only brings pain when you look back upon it.  You only serve one purpose in life now, to find and destroy those who are responsible for the pain and grief in your heart.

Skill Proficiencies: Besides a proficiency that you have carried over from that life of peace and innocence, you now pursue any avenue that will ultimately lead to revenge against those who came into your life and destroyed it. 

Tool Proficiencies: You carry over a tool proficiency from your prior life, but now you pursue only tools which will give you strength.

Languages: Common, and a language of your race, is all you have ever known.

Equipment: You start on your path to retribution carrying only what you could scrounge from the rubble after you were left for dead among the destruction and dead.

You no longer care for the frivolous and meaningless details of life.  You do not long for power, or wealth, or recognition.   You only can think of the destruction of those you hate.  Your personal hygiene is not important to you any longer.  The needs of others that you come across in your travels are always weighed against the need for retribution.  Others who you may travel with are only a means to an end.
