You can read an animal's body language and can predict to some extent how it will act. You know how to make yourself appear dominant or unthreatening to wild animals to befriend them or lessen the likelihood that they will attack. When you encounter a trained animal, you recognize what they have been trained for and can quickly grasp which commands they know. You can double your proficiency bonus on checks to calm animals or command trained animals, even if you did not train them yourself. You can add your proficiency bonus to checks made to train friendly wild animals.
Suggested Characteristics
You are adept at changing your demeanor between intimidating and comforting based on an animal's needs. This behavior is so ingrained in your psyche that you sometimes use it with humanoids unintentionally. You might suddenly become very dominant in reaction to someone acting out in a bratty manner, and this usually surprises those who witness it. Alternately, you might adopt a placating persona if someone near you looks like they might become violent. Sometimes this works in your favor and the person is placated, but other times they may feel you are patronizing them and get even angrier.
