Feywild Wanderer Image

All of the common people and many of the other folk that one might encounter along the coast of Elluvar have one thing in common: they live out their lives without ever traveling more than a few miles from where they were born - the humans, especially.

You? You are not one of those folk. You are not even like others of your Own folk here!

You are from the Feywilds, a place so remote and detatched that few of the common folk realize that it really, truly exists - and chances are good that even if some people you meet have heard of your homeland, they know merely the name and maybe a few outlandish rumors. You have come to this part of Ostador for your own reasons (or not, often the Feywild tires of her denizens and drops them on the Material Plane willy nilly), which you may or may not choose to share with the folks you do come across. Although you will undoubtedly find some of this places along this ways to be strange and discomfiting, you can also be sure that the people will find you much the same.

What Happened to You!?

A Feywild Wanderer might have set out on a journey for one of a number of reasons, and the departure from his or her homeland was likely - if not fully - involuntary. To determine why you are so, SO far from home, roll on the table below or choose from the options provided.

d6 What Happened to You!?
1 Emissary of they Feywild
2 Exiled by the Wild
3 Fugitive from the Fey
4 Deliberate Pilgrim
5 Unintentional Sightseer
6 Feywild Wanderer

Feature: You're Not From Around Here, Are You

Your way of speaking, moving, usage of figures of speech, and even your overall look all mark you as distinctly foreign. Curious or incredulous glances are directed your way wherever you go which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the intense interest of scholars and others intrigued by your far-off lands - to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories and truths about your homeland.

You can trade this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have reached, for you and your traveling companions both. Local lords, scholars, and merchant guilds - to name a few - might be very interested in hearing about your distant homeland, your people, and of course if trade is possible for the wonders you tell them of.

Feywild Wanderers spend most of their lives traveling about the strange world that is the Feywild - much like our own, but so different in many respects, and far FAR more dangerous. Both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts reside in the Feywild, along with Elves of varieties not seen on the Material Plane in generations and more - of their kind. Elementals wander the spaces between the forests and the purple-lavendar seas, are found in the mountains or on the winds. Strange beasts roam the plains and delve deep in caverns. All of this leads any who wish to reside her - or any who get trapped here - to develop new skills and spells to aid in their own survival. The spells this background provide are all for Survival, and thus all rely on Wisdom for their spellcasting ability. Spells can also only be used if you have a spell slot of that level available.
