The Ubuyashiki Temples are an organisation that has existed since ancient times, dedicating its existence to working from the shadows and protecting the people of Gaia from anything that would seek to harm them. However, since the events of the Cult of Asgorath attempting to bring back the Dragon God of Creation in an effort to destroy the world, they have taken a more active role and have stepped out of their hidden Temples to begin patrolling the world and actively seeking out those that would see genocide or mass extinction unfold.
Though not officially recognised by most governments, the Ubuyashiki Temples are located in almost every nation of Gaia, hidden in secretive locations that only the highest ranked of the organisation, the Hashira, have detailed locations for.
Being accepted into an Ubuyashiki Temple is a rare occurrence, usually only the most talented of individuals are accepted. Even the children of current members may be disallowed from joining their ranks. The most common way to join and be accepted is for a person to seek out a member of the organisation and partake in a series of tests, passing all such tests will then result in the person being allowed entrance on a provisional basis. The rarest way to join, and by far the most difficult, is to be scouted directly by a Hashira. Impressing a Hashira will result in a person being offered a place within the Ubuyashiki Temples and even rarer still being offered a place directly under the Hashira whom had scouted them.

Suggested Characteristics
Use the tables for the acolyte background below as the basis for your traits and motivations, modifying the entries when appropriate to suit your identity as an Ubuyashiki Agent. (For instance, consider the words “faith” and “organisation” to be interchangeable.)
Your bond might be associated with other members of the organisation, or a location or an object that is important to your home temple or the organisation as a whole. The ideal you strive for is probably in keeping with the tenets and principles of the organisation, but might be more personal in nature.
