Adventure called and you answered - eagerly. You have spent your life traveling this world and uncovering its secrets. Whether it’s an ancient trap-filled tomb, or a region previously untouched by humanoids, you yearn for discovery. Your travels have shown you almost everything this world has to offer, the good and evil. There is little left in the present that surprises you, so you search for relics of the past or untamed lands in which to find new challenges. When you choose this background work with your DM to determine your character’s motivation for exploration. Either develop your own reasons or choose from the table below.

- Equipment: A set of traveler’s clothes, an explorer’s pack, a memento of your first discovery, a belt pouch containing 10gp, and a map tube containing a treasure map.
Your travels have taken you far and wide and introduced you to many individuals with a wide variety of skills. No matter where in the world you are, you are never more than a few days away from someone with the knowledge you need to further your goals. Using this feature, you know of a person within 5 days of travel who will be able to help you in your current endeavor. Work with your DM when using this feature to determine what your relationship to this contact is and whether it is a positive or negative relationship.
Suggested Characteristics
Naturally inquisitive and burdened with the desire to know more, explorers rarely stay in one place for too long. Their constant travel leads them to make new acquaintances and friends almost everywhere they go, and their strong personalities leave an impression no matter how short-lived the meeting.
