Many independent organisations active in the North and across the face of the known world aren't bound by strictures of geography. These organisations often collude and form cartels. They pursue their agendas without regard for political boundaries, and their members operate anywhere the organization deems necessary. These groups employ listeners, rumormongers, smugglers, sellswords, cache-holders (people who guard caches of wealth or magic for use by the faction's operatives), haven keepers, and message drop minders, to name a few. At the core of every faction are those who don't merely fulfill a small function for that organization, but who serve as its hands, head, and heart.

You have sworn fealty to one of the worlds cartels. If you bear a mark of a wealthy family or you are born into one, you're likely a member of one of the cartels's influential families; otherwise you're an outsider who hopes to make your fortune through the cartel. Your main task is to serve as the eyes of your cartel, but you could be called on at any time to act as its hand. Such missions can be perilous but lucrative.

You can discuss with your DM regarding which cartel you are bound to, and/or have a connection to before the game begins.

Equipment: Badge, emblem og signet ring of your cartel, a copy of your contract, cartel trading charter, a set of common clothes and a pouch containing 20 gp.

Suggested Characteristics

Cartel agenst are diverse and vary in dependence to their respective cartel. Some might seem like villains on the surface, and some are even villainous to the core. But some have an abudance of endearing, if not redeeming, characteristics. Consider the cartel you serve, their goals and the work you do when choosing characteristcs.
