A group of gamers from 2020 Earth is pulled into the alternate-reality of Eberron.

Upon arriving in Eberron characters spend a year training into a particular class.

This background is built to reflect mature gamers with at least 4 decades of life experience. They have built full lives on earth with hobbies, families, and careers.

How you came to be in Ebberon will be revealed during the first game session. Upon arrival, you will be given training and equipment for an epic purpose.

The same instance that brought you to this realm also made you capable of understanding and speaking the native language: perhaps you actually speak the language in place of your native tongue, or perhaps, from your perception, everyone is actually speaking your native tongue. No matter what the specific details, you are now capable of speaking, reading, and writing Common, as well as other languages of the realm. You have learned new skills and abilities from this transition, but some things that you've known on Earth have proven to be just as useful here.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose 4 skills from other than History, arcana, and religion to reflect your previous life experience.
Tool Proficiencies: Choose 2 two proficiencies to reflect the skills of your previous life.
Equipment: One set of traveler’s clothes,  a weapon of your choice, up to a backpack worth of gear from home.

Variant Feature: Alien Behavior

Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign, if not otherworldly. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands and worlds, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories of your homeland.

You can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords, scholars, and merchant princes, to name a few, might be interested in hearing about your distant homeland and people. Furthermore, you are able to detect and identify people, objects, or concepts originally from Earth due to your origins.
