You have lived a life of the land - your land. It is a simple life filled with hard work and toil, but the land rewards you. You reap what you sow, you know the value of hard work, and as much as you bemoan the crowing of the rooster and having to milk the goats every morning, you know that without them you and your community would not be able to live.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two of Nature, Athletics, and Animal Handling
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose one of Cook's Utensils or Carpenter's Tools
- Equipment: A sickle or hand axe, a bucket, a mess kit, a set of common clothes, and a donkey, mule, or some other appropriate beast of burden worth 10g or less (consult with your DM).
You have cared for a self-sustaining homestead, you may own your homestead or be a serf for a titled noble (consult your DM), but you have all of the knowledge and expertise to cultivate crops, care for animals, and reasonably maintain a domicile. When you are adventuring, you can use this knowledge to assist in providing food for your party. You have advantage on Survival checks to forage for and prepare food for your party. You also have advantage on Animal Handling checks when you are handling domesticated farm animals appropriate to your setting and origin. When you are experiencing downtime, if you have access to sufficient land and the ability to work that land, you can live a modest life without incurring a cost. You also gain a small amount of income for selling the goods produced by your homestead, or a small amount of favor by working the land for a local noble (consult your DM).
