For as long as you can remember, you have had a passion for discovering the secrets of past civilizations. Your curiosity may have led you to spend many late nights researching and engaging with ancient tomes and scholarly musings, or you may have decided to traverse the land to explore ancient cities and lost dungeons, digging in search of arcane relics. The artifacts and lore that you uncovered became your proudest accomplishments, and you knew it was your responsibility to share these discoveries with the world.

As a curator, you serve as a keeper of history, preserving records of the past that may have otherwise been lost to time. Your collection has served to expand your own knowledge while also educating those around you. The artifacts and lore that are in your collection are precious - as a result of their physical or cultural worth - and it is your role to ensure their safety and upkeep.

Skill Proficiencies: History, plus your choice of one from among Arcana, Investigation, and Religion
Languages: Two of your choice
Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a writing set (a leather-bound journal, a quill and ink), a small knife, a map coded in an unfamiliar language, and a pouch containing 10 gp

Feature: Collection of Connections

Due to the collection that you've amassed and the knowledge generated from your work, you have made quite the name for yourself in the fields of history and lore. While traveling, you have free and easy access to most areas of libraries and universities, though there may be sections containing items too valuable, magical, or secret to permit anyone immediate access.

Archaeologists and researchers are more likely to share information with you as a professional courtesy, and some may even offer supplies to assist in your research or artifacts to be placed in your collection.

Suggested Characteristics

Your collection is your pride and joy, but there's always more knowledge to gain and more relics to be discovered. Whether you seek to solve an ancient puzzle, discover a famed artifact, or simply expand your personal museum, you know that your future is connected to the past. Your motivations may be for the betterment of society or for fame and fortune; you might choose to get your hands dirty while searching historic locations or you may prefer to stay between the pages of a book.
