As a runaway, your experiences in life are rife with feelings of misfortune, guilt, curiosity, and fear. These leading you to escape your current path and diverge, forging a new life for yourself, and involve oneself into happenings of your own choosing. You act as a beacon of hope for yourself and others, demonstrating how decisive action can work to one's benefit. Oftentimes, you have to flee your past with haste, to evade wars, abuse, or to fulfill a wanderlust.
Work with your DM to develop the specifics about your abandoned destiny, and flesh out where you came from, and where you went after this escape. Were you inspired by the heroes of legend and fled to fulfill your desire to be like them? Or maybe you left to escape the expectations of those around you, and become what you wished to be. Perhaps you fled from military service, much to the dismay of your honor-bound clan. You may even be chased, fleeing from those who wish to hunt you for one reason or another.
