You are a proud member of the kingdom's long standing postal service. You spent your formative years working at the local post office, running errands, and local deliveries. As you grew older, you were given your own route, and often took to the road to deliver the mail from one town to the next. It was a good job, with its own hazards upon the road, aye, and for that it gave you your first taste of adventure.
While you have moved beyond the postal service, more inclined to dungeon delving and goblin slaying, you have kept your hand in the business, and made many contacts during your employment.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose one from the following: Animal Handling, Athletics, Perception, and Stealth.
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose either one tool proficiency of your choice or one music instrument proficiency of your choice.
- Languages: Choose any one language.
- Equipment: A knife, a satchel, a postmaster’s badge, a heavy fur coat or cloak, and a pouch containing 10 gp.
You are still on good standing with the post office. When traveling between towns and cities, you may borrow a riding horse for yourself and each member of your party. These mounts are on loan, and should you not return them in a timely manner (approximately 1 week) and in perfect health, the post office may charge you as much as 75 gp per mount lost/hurt. Repeat offences will see your request for mounts denied.
When traveling from one town to another, at any given time there are 1d100 letters to be delivered. Should you agree to take these letters, you will be paid 1cp per letter upon delivering them to the local post office. Failure to deliver letters in a timely manner (approximately 1 week) can result in your dishonourable discharge from the postal service.
