Chosen Of Khurgorbaeyag Image

Prerequisite: Goblin Cleric or Paladin

You are a Goblin. A remarkable Goblin at that! For you have been chosen by your chief deity, Khurgorbaeyag himself, to represent himself on the Mortal Plane. Are you a great and strong warrior, able to best your foes for the betterment of Goblin kind? Or is your cunning unmatched by your peers, able to outwit your opponents every step of the way. Whatever your particular situation is, you are a devout and unrelenting follower of Khurgorbaeyag. And luckily for you, your devotion and prayers have not gone unnoticed.

The Lord of All Goblins has seen fit to elevate you to a status high above your goblin peers. Your position is rare, and must be treated as such. Khurgorbaeyag does not take his power lightly, and is loathe to share it with his subjects, save for the most devout among them. As such, Goblin spellcasters are few and far between. Work with your DM to figure out a plausible reason why your deity would share this power with you. Have you completed such a great task or conquered a problem so mighty that it simply can't be ignored? Have you bargained for your life, giving up your soul for a small taste of power? Alternatively, you can roll on the table below.

Skill Proficiencies: Religion
Tool Proficiencies: Whip (Weapon Proficiency)
Languages: -
Equipment: A red and yellow braided Whip, marking your devotion and allegiance to Khurgorbaeyag.

Feature: His Divine Power

As the Holy Symbol of your Lord, your whip is used to channel his Divine Power to smite your foes and clear a better path for all Goblins. When casting a spell, your Whip can be used as a Spellcasting Focus, following the Player's Handbook's rules on spellcasting. If you do not have it already, you gain proficiency with a Whip.

Furthermore, your Whip commands a certain amount of respect amongst Goblins all across the realms. When presenting a group of Goblins with your divine weapon, you might find yourself in a temporary alliance, or  you might be able to bully or coerce them into doing a simple task for you, all at the DM's discretion. Do note that while Goblins in most realms live under the harsh rule of Khurgorbaeyag's caste system, not all of them worship him directly and might not be as impressed as others.

Suggested Characteristics

Khurgorbaeyag does not share his power freely among his subjects, so your situation must be special. To figure out your bond to Khurgorbaeyag, roll on the table below to see out why your Lord has seen fit to give a small sliver of his might to you. Alternatively, work out a solution with your DM that might better fit the story being told.

d6 Bond
1 You've struck a bargain with your Lord. Divine power in this life, in return for eternal servitude in the next. While all Goblins are important to Khurgorbaeyag, a single Goblin is usually insignificant. Work out the details for your bargain with your DM.
2 You embody the best of Goblin society, giving in to the order and stability of the caste system. You never question order, and are quick to follow them in return. As he values servitude and obedience above all, Khurgorbaeyag certainly approves.
3 You've done something absolutely remarkable for your clan or tribe in your past. You're regarded as a home-town hero and might even part of local Goblin legend. A legend so great, that even The Overseer himself can't ignore it.
4 You've usurped the position of the Cleric or Priest before you. By murdering your previous master, your call to fame and attention has been swift and filled with controversy among your peers. Khurgorbaeyag seems pleased by your murder-filled rise to power.
5 You've prayed everyday, devoted countless hours to singing hymns and preaching in Khurgorbaeyag's name. Basically, you're annoying and he needed a reason to shut you up for a while. Enjoy it while it lasts.
6 You're incredibly lucky. It seems Maglubiyet or some other deity from the Goblin Pantheon has ordered Khurgorbaeyag to share his power with you. Begrudgingly, he is forced to comply.
