Though you and your kind have little to do with the other more industrial or "civilized" races, you are no less industrious when it comes to your duties. As an Elf you take a long term outlook to the world and to any situation you might find yourself in.
Unlike others of your kind, you are a protector, part of the military force of your people. As a result of this, you are less prone to the Fey tendencies to be chaotic and impulsive. Instead you hold to the old ways. Tradition and order has kept the Elven Protectors strong, as the human kingdoms grow weaker and more divided as a result of their short lives. You guard your forest home from intruders, and as a result typically roam around the outskirts of your clan's territory. It can be a lonely life for some Elven Protectors, but duty is all - and your sacred duty is worth more in your eyes than any amount of self sacrifice.
- Skill Proficiencies: As a result of your training and duties roaming the woods that mark your territory, you gain the following proficiencies: Stealth and Survival.
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose from one of the following: Herbalism Kit, Woodcarvers Tool or Flute.
- Languages: As a result of protecting your realm, you meet and often deter foreigners from entering your territory. You gain the language of one neighboring civilization.
- Equipment: A hunting trap, 25gp and a sigil denoting your clan and rank.
There are many kinds of Protectors. The majority have quite solitary guard postings that span large amounts of forestland. However there are also honour guards to Elven royalty, regular city guards and even commanders ready for the event of war.
You have an excellent knowledge of not only your clan’s territory, but also the terrain and natural resources of your territory. You are familiar enough with any wilderness area that you find twice as much food and water as you normally would when you forage there.
Additionally, you can call upon the hospitality of your people, and those folk allied with your tribe, often including members of druid circles, tribes of nomadic elves, forest gnomes and other such friends to your territory.
Suggested Characteristics
Protector's may seem solitary and serious but often they have a softer side - embracing the nature they guard or enjoying conversations with the occasional innocent traveler through their territory.
