“There ain’t no party like a revelry party, because the revelry party don’t stop!” That has been the mantra behind all Satyr revelries, some of which have lasted for millennia, and you are the first line of defense in making sure that mantra holds true. Your skills are honed, you’ve heard every excuse, but you will only let those who have pure revelry in their hearts pass.
Inevitably, some who don’t belong will sneak in or the revelry in their hearts will wane. They’ll start to dampen the mood, spout common sense, or advise against a hilarious prank! At which point it has been your duty to boot them out before their negative vibes spread and threaten the revelry
Not all threats come from within though. Among the line you start to hear rumblings of something brewing that could spread far and wide putting even the revelry at risk. Trusting in your fellow Bouncers to maintain, you decide to go and look into the murmurs to ensure YOUR revelry DOES NOT STOP!
- Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Insight
- Languages: Two of your choice (I intially put Dwarven and Halfling: one provides the ale, the other knows the best stuff to fill your pipe. It would be only natural to learn them for good relations. But then I noticed no other background is built with specific Languages in the PHB)
Due to engrained mannerisms, pub owners and party inclined royalty alike can spot you according to your occupation a mile away. As such, you find it easy to find work from such people. Which suits you just fine, every party deserves a protector.
Suggested Characteristics
Personally, I just mix/match from the ideals/traits/bonds/flaws of the official backgrounds and minorly adjust them to fit the character I have in mind. I may think up a proper list of selections. But the inspiration for those descriptions is escaping me at the moment.
Here's at least an example of what I put in for the campaign I built this for. I was a Satyr (any race can be a bouncer though).
