You've grown up with the privilege of education. Whether or not you've taken that for granted is your choice, but nonetheless, you've studied general subjects to a certain extent for all your life, and have shown prowess in a couple. You've also begun to become an adult, and your personality is developing very quickly, often causing you to have some trouble with a handful of difficult feelings and emotions.
- Skill Proficiencies: Your skill proficiencies reflect two subjects you are adept in. Take any two from History, Athletics, Nature, Insight, Acrobatics, Religion, Sleight Of Hand, and Performance.
- Tool Proficiencies: One set of Artisan's Tools, or an Instrument, of your choice, related to a subject you have shown talent in.
- Languages: Common, and one of your choice.
- Equipment: Typical stationary (pen, pencil, eraser, geometry set), a letter from a schoolmate with a question you do not yet feel ready to answer, a set of common clothes, two textbooks and two scrapbooks, a a bag to carry your books and stationary, and a pouch containing 2 gp and 50 sp.
Your DM has the ability to reward players of this background with Study Points, to their own discretion. Study Points can be spent on raising the bonus given when performing a Skill Check by 1, to a maximum of +3 past that specific skill's base bonus at 1st level. Any individual Study Point must be spent on one specific Skill, and cannot be removed from that Skill once spent.
So, for example, if a player has been rewarded one Study Point, and decides to spend it on Nature, which is currently at +2, their Nature checks will now permanently be +3 instead, not including specific situations where this may differ.
For a second example, a second player has earned two Study Points. This player has the option to either spend them on two individual skills, or spend both on a single skill, giving it a +2 instead, so long as this does not conflict with the aforementioned rules.
