
A wrench was thrown into your life recently that has caused you to become the worlds next hero. Maybe you're from a non-magical world, or you stumbled across a legendary magical artifact. Whatever it may be, you're an adventurer now, whether you like it or not.
When you pick this background, work with your DM to figure out the specifics of your sudden heroism. You could be in possession of an important item, or maybe you're simply a sorcerer who's just discovered their magical powers.
- Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Sleight of Hand
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: A shortsword, ball bearings (bag of 1,000), a grappling hook, a signal whistle, a set of traveler's clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.
As per usual for people like you, when a situation seems grim, you manage to get by with just sheer luck.
After you miss with an attack, fail a saving throw, or fail an ability check, you can choose to automatically succeed (even after fail) on the next consecutive attack, saving throw, or ability check you make. You can use this feature again after finishing a long rest.
Suggested Characteristics
Sudden Hero's are typically average people who have been thrust into the life of adventuring. They aren't usually confident in their abilities at this point, and try to use clever tactics and cunning to get through whatever situation they've found themselves in.
