Child Caretaker Image

You are the caretaker to a child or many children in a family. Throughout history, child caretakers were relegated only to royalty, nobles or those families that were particularly well off. Now many families across the economic spectrum can have another cafe for their child(ren).

Your typical duties are to make sure the children are safe, clean, fed, and entertained. Having to take on all of those duties you are quite the hard worker, as well as a bit of a jack of all trades.

Work with your DM to find out more about the family you served. Were they wealthy, comfortable, or poor? Were you a live-in caretaker or did you need to commute? How many children did you take care of? Did you and the children get along? What is your style of caring? Are you the doting nanny, the strict governess, or the laidback babysitter?

These details will help to establish the children and their parents as features of the world of the campaign.

Suggested Characteristics

Caretaker’s may have a lot of experience with children, perhaps being parents of grandparents themselves, or none at all. Think about your caring style and how that reflects on your character’s personality.
